Carp fishing in France, Season 2, Weeks 6 - 9 catches at Etang de Planchon.
Along with the better weather came the chance that the carp may actually spawn but so far they haven’t.
Over the 4 weeks 9 anglers were on the lake and between them they landed 225 carp totalling 2.6 ton of fish.
The 4 weeks saw busy days and quiet days, quite often when anglers arrived they were graced with 4 to 5 carp in the first couple of hours and then a quiet spell for the next couple of hours.
All of the 9 anglers managed to land themselves a 30 lb plus carp.
Again, the majority of the carp were caught on Trigga (lake specials) topped with fake corn, with most of the larger carp coming in over larger beds of bait consisting of Hemp, maize & pellet. Over the 4 weeks the anglers tried different things and they did get some takes on the following:
Sticky Vortex boilies on their own or topped with fake corn
Mistral rosehip boilies
3 to 4 pieces of fake corn on the hair,
Cell pop ups on their own or topped with fake corn
Halibut or Chilli / Tuna pop ups topping off the Trigga (lake specials)
The biggest 5 carp for the first month were: 38 lb 12 oz, 38 lb 10 oz, 37 lb 12 oz, 37 lb 11 oz & 37 lb.
