Carp fishing France, weeks 13 - 17 Catches at Etang de Planchon.
Week 13 saw the arrival of Ross Clarke from Lincolnshire for a week & also a French angler (Johan Bonnefond) for 2 nights, carp fishing France.
Ross arrived with his wife Carrie and didn’t fish hard for the whole week, taking time out to spend with Carrie over the week. As Ross had the lake to himself he decided on moving around, he started in Kestrel, moved to Falcon and decided to move back to Kestrel at the end of the week.
Towards the end of the week Ross followed Lewis’ example from the previous week and experimented with big beds of bait (Hemp, Pellet & Boilie) while carp fishing France.
This method seems to be working as it resulted in 3 rods going off in quick succession on Ross’ last afternoon.
Ross managed to bag himself 15 Fish for the week, 1 of which was a 31.6lb.
His total catch weight for the week was 347 lb & 8 oz and his catches were: 17.5lb, 3 x 20lb, 20.8lb, 2 x 22lb, 22.2lb, 23.3lb, 24lb, 24.2lb, 26.8lb, 26.10lb, 27.2lb & 31.6lb.
Ross enjoyed his week and was happy that he managed to walk away with having caught 15 Carp including a 30lber.
Johan Bonnefond from Limoges stayed for 2 nights and managed to bag himself 2 fish, they were: 26.5lb & 30.5lb.
Johan was happy to have beaten his PB with the 30lb fish and wants to return regularly for short sessions.
Week 14 saw the arrival of Wayne Geddes from Coventry.
Wayne started his week in Harrier but spent one warm afternoon in Buzzard, Wayne also only fished 1 night in the week, the rest of the week he slept in the Gite and started his fishing again in the mornings.
Even though Wayne didn’t fish 24/7 he still managed to bag 19 fish but a 30 eluded him.
His total catch weight for the week was 389 lb & 11 oz and his catches were: 2 x 16lb, 16.12lb, 18lb, 19lb, 19.6lb, 19.11lb, 19.12lb, 20.3lb, 20.4lb, 20.9lb, 20.10lb, 20.11lb, 20.13lb, 21.4lb, 21.13lb, 24.4lb, 25.9lb & 29.2lb
Wayne was happy with his catches but he said next time he comes he will be fishing 24/7.
Week 15 saw the arrival of mini_chris’ group who bid on a charity auction and won a week at Etang de Planchon.
The 5 were Chris Pownell, Pete Kelly, Stephen Harvey, Mike Hayes & Wesley Gerrard.
The fishing this week was tough, mainly due to the temperatures hitting 40 Degrees and the fish not being interested in taking any bait.
Despite the temperatures, between them, the guys managed to land 29 fish totalling 653lb & 2oz.
Wesley managed to land the most fish for the week, he landed 10 fish totalling 230lb & 8oz, his biggest being 27lb.
His catches were: 17.8lb, 19lb, 20lb, 21lb, 22.8lb, 24.8lb, 25.12lb, 26.8lb, 26.12lb & 27lb.
Stephen only landed 1 for the week but he was happy not to have blanked, his catch was 22lb. Check out the last picture below, he did manage to catch some zzz’s in the main house when the weather was extremely hot.
Pete landed himself 6 fish for the week, 1 of which was the biggest mirror of the week at 28lb &2.oz, his total fish catch was 133lb & 6oz.
His catches were: 16.10lb, 19.8lb, 20lb, 23.7lb, 25.11lb & 28.2lb.
Chris & Mike decided to stick with 2 rods for the week as this was how they fished in the UK.
Chris landed himself 8 fish for the week, 1 of which was the biggest fish of the week, a 30lb Common. His total fish catch was 176lb & 4oz.
His catches were: 2 x 18lb, 19.4lb, 20lb, 21.8lb, 22lb, 27.8lb & 30lb.
Mike landed himself 4 fish for the week, his biggest being 27lb & 8 oz, his total fish catch for the week was 91lb.
His catches were: 18lb, 19lb, 26.8lb & 27.8lb.
Although the weather threw the fishing off this week, the guys enjoyed themselves with plenty of banter and abuse, none of which came from the management of course… he he
Week 16 & 17 saw the arrival of John & Kelvin from Clwyd for the whole week, it also saw the arrival of Ray Prickett from Worcestershire, on Thursday, for a long weekend.
John and Kelvin started the week off well, on the right side of the lake, then moved to the left on Tuesday, they moved to give Ray his reserved double swim when he arrived on Thursday.
Between John and Kelvin, they managed to land 29 fish for the week totalling 667 lb & 10 oz, the biggest landing to John in the shape of 2 fish weighing in at 28 lb 2 oz.
John landed himself 16 fish for the week totalling 371 lb & 12 oz, his catches were: 2 x 17lb, 19.10lb, 20lb, 21lb, 21.4lb, 22.5lb, 22.9lb, 23lb, 24.15lb, 25.7lb, 26.4lb, 27.2lb, 28lb & 2 x 28.2lb.
Kelvin was not far behind with 13 fish totalling 295 lb & 14 oz, his catches were: 18.8lb, 19lb, 19.14lb, 20lb, 22.2lb, 3 x 22.4lb, 22.12lb, 23lb, 27.14lb & 2 x 28lb.
Ray joined the guys on Thursday and fished until Sunday, he managed to land himself 11 fish totalling 216 lb & 2 oz.
Rays catches were: 2 x 17lb, 18lb, 2 x 20lb, 2 x 22lb, 23.8lb, 28lb & 28.10lb.
